ang Maoyan’s artistic aim is to express a point of view or a possible perspective on reality, but not to record the world directly. Influenced by the techniques of photography, the painter transcribes onto the canvas the picture that eye physically beholds. It is as a flash of color gradients. This work is in a way searching for a truth. The world surrounding us might be different from the one we can see. Yang Maoyuan gives us his scientific and esthetic view on displays of color gradients. |
